The thing

"Houston, we have a problem. I repeat, Houston, we have a problem." The spaceship's radar signaled that a UFO was flying towards us. I activated the aircraft's AI autopilot and rushed to the Blaster room to prepare to shoot it down. Suddenly, I received a message from a random sender. I slowly read, "Please, don't shoot. "I looked to my right and saw a green spaceship approaching us slowly. "Houston, there is an alien spacecraft," I called out over the radio. "Open the landing dock, but turn on the AI defense mechanism," Houston, replied. I quickly went to the control room, armed the defense systems, and opened the landing dock. The alien spacecraft made its way inside, badly damaged. "Take this," the alien said, handing me a purple core with an eight-sided star in the middle of it. The alien instructed me to replace the old green gem core inside the control panel with this one. Houston authorized the procedure. I removed the old gem, causing all power to go offline. After placing the new purple core inside the control panel, the spacecraft shuddered as the metal plates started to reshape and form a futuristic and sleek design. The upgraded spaceship could now travel at light speed, and the new armed turrets were capable of easily destroying huge meteorites.
